Kremlin spokesman says election of new US House speaker won’t change US stance on Ukraine

Mike Johnson, a Republican, was elected as House speaker on October 25

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the recent election of a new speaker at the US House of Representatives won’t change Washington's policies, including about providing aid to Kiev.

"No, I don't think so," he told reporters in response to a question on the subject.

Mike Johnson, a Republican, was elected as House speaker on October 25. The House had made several attempts to elect a speaker, rejecting some previous nominees, after former Speaker Kevin McCarthy was ousted over differences with GOP conservatives.
