Hungary opposes any new anti-Russian sanctions ahead of EU meeting in Prague

As Peter Szijjarto said, both the prices and proposals by the European Commission are completely out of touch with reality

BUDAPEST, October 12. /TASS/. Hungary is opposed to additional sanctions against Russian energy and expects the European Union to refrain from any new proposals in the sphere, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Wednesday ahead of an informal meeting of EU energy ministers in Prague.

"The energy crisis in Europe was caused by [these] wrongful sanctions imposed by Brussels. Unfortunately, both the prices and proposals by the European Commission are completely out of touch with reality. We should regain common sense, otherwise we will face huge problems," Hungary’s top diplomat wrote on social media.

"Today, EU energy ministers are convening a meeting in Prague. Hopefully Brussels will not come up with more `great’ ideas," wrote Szijjarto, who is in charge of Hungary’s international cooperation on energy.
