Medvedev arrives in Vietnam for official visit to discuss major joint projects

The cooperation in trade, investments, industry and energy is on the agenda

HANOI, November 18. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Vietnam for an official visit on Sunday.

The Russian premier set off for Hanoi after the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit held in Papua New Guinea.

According to the Russian government’s press service, during the two-day visit Medvedev is due to hold talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, General Secretary of Vietnam’s Communist Party’s Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trong and Chairman of the country’s National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

"There are plans to discuss vital issues of Russian-Vietnamese cooperation in trade, investments, industry and energy," the statement said. The sides will discuss the implementation of major joint infrastructure, high-tech, education and humanitarian projects, including holding the Year of Russia in Vietnam and the Year of Vietnam in Russia in 2019.
