MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Nearly 600 emergency situations have occurred in more than 300 communities of Crimea as a result of the storm that hit the Black Sea coast of Russia, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told TASS.
"As a result of the storm on the peninsula, 598 incidents occurred in 307 communities. There were 195 residential houses in the waterlogged zone in the city of Yevpatoria and the village of Pribrezhnoye," the press service reported.
The Emergencies Ministry added that the evacuation of residents was carried out throughout the night, with 326 people being evacuated, including 46 children. Currently, a state of emergency has been introduced in the Yevpatoria and Saky districts. In total, more than 1,300 people and 432 units of equipment have been mobilized to help deal with the hurricane's aftermath. A total of 183 Krymenergo brigades are engaged in restoring the power, which is not available to about 500,000 people.
The cyclone that occurred at night and in the morning of November 27 caused hurricane winds and massive flooding on the Black Sea coast of Russia. The affected regions include the republics of Crimea and Dagestan, the Krasnodar and Rostov regions, the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. The weather event damaged homes, caused power outages and traffic problems.
