SAINT PETERSBURG, September 24, TASS. The company "C Project" has unveiled the unmanned craft "Briz," which successfully completed a 280-kilometer voyage in Arctic conditions autonomously, a TASS correspondent reported.
"The unmanned vessel 'Briz' undertook a journey along the route from Arkhangelsk to the Solovetsky Islands in July of this year. It is this very vessel that covered 280 kilometers in automatic mode. Essentially, it is the first unmanned surface vehicle deployed in the Arctic with a proven result. The Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region reported this achievement to the Russian President," a representative of "C Project" stated.
According to him, the "Briz" had sufficient power reserves and remaining fuel to return to its port of departure. Furthermore, the representative emphasized that the vessel consists of more than eighty percent Russian-made components. "The number of potential application models for the 'Briz' already reaches several dozen. We are talking about more than 50 different use cases for this technology," he added.
