Rosatom intends to expand its wind power project in Kyrgyzstan

SIRIUS /FEDERAL TERRITORY/, March 26. /TASS/. State corporation Rosatom signed an agreement with the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan on the construction of wind power plants in the country with a capacity of up to 1 GW, according to the telegram channel of Novavind, the Rosatom division responsible for implementing programs in the new energy sector. Thus, the state corporation will expand its project in Kyrgyzstan.

The document was signed by the General Director of Novavind Grigory Nazarov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Talaibek Baigaziev, and General Director of Rosatom local office in Kyrgyzstan Dmitry Konstantinov.

"The subject of the agreement is the development and implementation of an investment project for the construction of renewable energy facilities in Kyrgyzstan with a capacity of up to 1 GW. At the first stage, it is planned to implement a pilot project for the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 100 MW in the Issyk-Kul region," the statement said.

The second stage of the project involves the development of sites for the placement of renewable energy sources with a total capacity of up to 900 MW.
