Bank of Russia raises forecast for structural liquidity surplus to $5.47-13.12 bln in 2023

The Bank of Russia also noted that in November the demand for cash was below seasonal levels

MOSCOW, December 8. /TASS/. The Bank of Russia raised its forecast for the structural liquidity surplus of the banking sector in 2023 to 0.5-1.2 trillion rubles ($5.47-13.12 bln), the regulator said on Friday.

"The forecast for the structural liquidity surplus for the end of 2023 has been increased by 0.5 trillion rubles and is estimated within the range of 0.5-1.2 trillion rubles. The main change is associated with a lower forecast for the demand for cash, taking into account real data for October - November 2023," the regulator notes.

The Bank of Russia also noted that in November the demand for cash was below seasonal levels.
