Kremlin tight-lipped on Baltika brewery nationalization

According to Dmitry Peskov, Carlsberg Group did not accept Russian proposals on a deal "with more than acceptable terms as regards financial payments or mutually beneficial use of brands"

MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov made no comment on proposals to nationalize the Baltika brewery, related to actions of Danish Carlsberg Group.

The Vedomosti newspaper said earlier that President of Baltika Taimuraz Bolloev had approached head of the Russian Property Management Agency Vadim Yakovenko with a proposal to nationalize the brewery, having said that this is the only way out of the evolved situation. Carlsberg Group did not accept Russian proposals on a deal "with more than acceptable terms as regards financial payments or mutually beneficial use of brands," he is reported to say.

"I leave it without comment thus far," Peskov said. Every specific case is unique "and should be thoroughly considered by the government and the [presidential] administration," he noted. "Certainly, mainly by the government," Peskov stressed.
