Russia ups quota on export of mineral fertilizers by 2.2 mln tons until November 30

Quotas will not cover supplies of fertilizers to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, according to the decree

MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. The Russian government has increased the quota on export of mineral fertilizers by 2.2 mln tons until November 30, 2023, according to a respective decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin obtained by TASS.

Total export quota will exceed 18.5 mln tons, the decree said. The Industry and Trade Ministry has been tasked with distributing the volumes between exporters.

Quotas will not cover supplies of fertilizers to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, according to the decree.

The decision taken is expected to enable producers of mineral fertilizers to export leftover stock provided the domestic market demands are fully satisfied.

Russia introduced the export duty on mineral fertilizers from January 1 and extended quotas on supplies to other countries. The duty will stand at 23.5% in case the fertilizer price is above $450 per ton. The duty will be in force until the end of the year.
