China’s agriculture imports up 4.7% in Q1 to 38.72 mln tons — customs

In March, agriculture imports fell by 6.3% month-on-month to 11.98 mln tons in physical terms, and by 6.4% to $6.56 bln in money terms

BEIJING, April 13. /TASS/. China’s imports of main agricultural crops, among them grain, beans and root vegetables, amounted to 38.72 mln tons in January-March, up by 4.7% in annual terms, the General Administration of Customs of China reported on Thursday.

In money terms, agriculture supplies from other countries rose by 16.8% to $21.51 bln, according to the report.

In March, agriculture imports fell by 6.3% month-on-month to 11.98 mln tons in physical terms, and by 6.4% to $6.56 bln in money terms.

In 2022, China purchased 146.87 mln tons of main agricultural crops worth $82.64 bln from other countries, down by 10.7% in physical terms and up by 10.5% in value terms compared with 2021.
