Kremlin calls new EU sanctions package 'predictable'

Dmitry Peskov added that "the Europeans continue to follow the path of a sanctions dive"

MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/. The sixteenth package of sanctions the European Union has imposed against Russia was quite predictable, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a briefing.

"Another package - all this was predictable, so to speak" the Kremlin official noted adding that "the Europeans continue to follow the path of a sanctions dive."

In the new sanctions package, Brussels imposed restrictions on the import of aluminum from Russia, as well as the export of gaming consoles to the country. Restrictions were imposed against a number of banks and media outlets, transactions through the Central Bank's financial messaging system, operations with a number of airports (including Vnukovo) and ports were limited.
