Kremlin not to disclose identities of potential Western participants in SPIEF

"Nevertheless, many business representatives from unfriendly countries show a big interest," the Kremlin spokesman said

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. Numerous business people from unfriendly countries show their interest in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), but the Kremlin will not disclose their identities yet, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

"Even if they come, we cannot talk about them," Peskov said adding if their identifies are disclosed, those business people could be put in jeopardy.

"Nevertheless, many business representatives from unfriendly countries show great interest," the Kremlin spokesman said when asked if business people from unfriendly countries would attend the SPIEF, due to be held in June.

Peskov answered in the affirmative when asked if a candidate for the moderator of the SPIEF plenary session had already been named, but did not give the name.

"No, I won’t say more," Peskov said.

The 2023 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which is the largest economic forum in Russia, will be held on June 14-17. The SPIEF plenary session is traditionally attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This year, as Putin indicated earlier, the labor market will be in the focus of the SPIEF.
