TEHRAN, February 12. /TASS/. The second batch of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine "Sputnik V" has been sent to Tehran by plane on Friday, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali informed.
"The second batch of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine "Sputnik V" was delivered to the Iranian embassy on Thursday evening as promised by the representatives of the Russian Health Ministry. On Thursday, it was sent to Tehran on a special flight," the IRNA agency quotes him as saying.
The first batch of the Russian vaccine was sent to Tehran on February 4.
On Tuesday, Iran launched free voluntary vaccination against COVID-19 using Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine. At the first stage, it is planned to vaccinate medical professionals working in intensive care units. After that, people over 65 years of age and other medical workers will be vaccinated. The country plans to use a vaccine developed by Iran in April.
