About 50,000 tonnes of fish to be transported by Northern Sea Route in 2021

ARKHANGELSK, February 8. /TASS/. Russia’s fishery authority Rosrybolovstvo plans to transport about 50,000 tonnes of fish by the Northern Sea Route in 2021, the authority’s head, Ilya Shestakov, said on Friday.

"As for this year, we plan to transport between 30 and 50 thousand tonnes of fish along the Northern Sea Route," he said. "We plan a few trips. <…> We have agreed with all authorities <...> on additional incentives for subsidizing the construction of a specialized fleet of refrigerators, <…> and facilities to receive fish products."

Salmon is the main key product transported via the Northern Sea Route, he continued. The amount may reach even 100,000 tonnes, he added.
