MOSCOW, January 25. /TASS/. Russian retailer Wildberries, represented in nine countries besides Russia, increased its international sales by 95% in 2020 to 23.7 bln rubles ($315.21 mln), the company told TASS.
"In 2020, export sales of sellers of the large international online retailer Wildberries increased by 95% year-on-year to 23.7 bln rubles, in physical terms the growth was 138%," the company said.
The most popular Wildberries items among foreign buyers were clothing, beauty products, books, footwear, and food. The most dynamic growth in 2020 was noted for health products (annual sales growth in units +1,246%), jewelry (+1,201%), baby food (+1,187%), food (+852%), sports nutrition and cosmetics (+793%). "The top 10 most popular Wildberries products abroad that were manufactured in Russia include disposable medical masks, books, dresses, T-shirts, trousers, creams, bedding, baby cereals, board games, and tea," Wildberries said.
According to the company, the most in demand Russian goods in Poland are underwear and medical masks, in Slovakia - books and dresses. Customers from Israel were actively purchasing Russian books and beauty products, from Germany, where the company began operating in January 2021, - beauty care kits and board games.
"Today already 19,300 entrepreneurs export their goods through Wildberries, their number has almost tripled over the year. We continue to actively expand the company's presence outside Russia: in the near future, Wildberries also plans to enter the markets of France, Italy, and Spain," Wildberries Development Director Vyacheslav Ivaschenko said.
The company is present in Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Israel, Germany, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia. Wildberries' turnover in 2020 almost doubled and reached 437.2 bln rubles ($5.81 bln).
