India’s Modi congratulates Putin on re-election as president of Russia

Russia held its first ever three-day presidential election on March 15-17

NEW DELHI, March 18. /TASS/. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent his congratulations to Vladimir Putin on his re-election as Russia’s president.

"Warm congratulations to H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin on his re-election as the president of the Russian Federation," the Indian premier wrote on his page on X.

"Look forward to working together to further strengthen the time-tested special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia in the years to come," Modi added.

Russia held its first ever three-day presidential election on March 15-17. Voters had the option of casting their ballots online in around one-third of Russia’s regions.

According to the latest data from the Central Election Commission after counting 100% of ballots, the incumbent Russian leader and an independent candidate, has won a landslide victory in the Russian presidential elections with 87.28% of the vote.
