MUNICH, February 17. /TASS/. China pursues a stabilizing policy in the international arena and it will contribute to the settlement of the most urgent problems on the global agenda, Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said.
"The key message I would like to convey to you is that regardless of changes in the world, China as a responsible power will continue to adhere to its principles, pursue consistent and sustainable policy, acting as an unwavering force ensuring stability in this turbulent world," Wang told the Munich Security Conference.
He recalled that 2023 saw a series of major upheavals that left humanity faced with numerous challenges.
"The world economy is being dragged down by protectionism and abuse of the notion of [national] security. The international system has been weakened by [individual countries'] unilateralism and bloc politics," he added.
Wang pointed out that the global situation continued to be negatively affected by the Ukrainian crisis. In addition, the conflict in the Middle East escalated. He also mentioned such an important issue as climate change.
"China will act as a force contributing to the settlement of crucial issues," Wang promised. Beijing intends to help resolve key global issues "without interfering in the domestic politics of other countries or dictating its will on anyone.".
