MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. Washington is the driving force pushing Kiev to continue the armed conflict, but disagreements within the United States about financial support for Ukraine are beginning to permeate European sentiments, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"It's hard to say," he said, when asked whether the US potentially stopping aid to Kiev would serve as a signal to other countries.
"Of course, America is the locomotive in this plan, the locomotive in terms of encouraging the Ukrainians to continue war. And, of course, such internal disagreements in the US cannot but be projected onto the general mood, including among Europeans," Peskov said.
Earlier, addressing the US Congress at the White House, Biden called for approving the Washington administration's request for additional financial aid to Ukraine from the federal budget before lawmakers leave for Christmas break in mid-December. The US president suggested that Russia could invade any NATO country after a possible victory in Ukraine, drawing the US into the conflict.
