DUBAI, November 24. /TASS/. Medical supplies that are currently being delivered to the Gaza Strip by the international community, are not enough even for one day, the Al Mayadeen TV channel reported, citing a Gaza hospital spokesman.
The spokesperson for the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said the current international deliveries "do not meet the hospitals' needs for a single day," adding that "200 trucks daily of medical supplies are not sufficient for Gaza's hospitals."
"The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital is running out of fuel, which is a life-threatening situation for dozens of wounded, the majority of whom are in critical condition," the channel quoted him as saying.
According to the Al Mayadeen report, Gaza hospitals are overcrowded and have to "treat some of the patients straight in hospital corridors."
Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 after militants from the Gaza Strip-based radical Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise incursion on Israeli territory, killing many Israeli kibbutz residents living near the Gaza border and abducting more than 200 Israelis, including women, children and the elderly. Hamas described its attack as a response to Israeli authorities’ aggressive actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and launched bombardments of the enclave and some areas in Lebanon and Syria, as well as a ground operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Clashes are also reported in the West Bank.
According to latest reports, more than 1,400 Israelis have been killed and over 5,200 were injured. Israel’s retaliatory strikes on Gaza left more than 7,000 Palestinians dead and almost 18,500 injured, according to the enclave’s health ministry.
