DUBAI, November 21. /TASS/. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck a school housing refugees in northern Gaza Strip and a hospital in central Gaza, Lebanon's Al Mayadeen TV channel reported, adding that there were casualties and fatalities.
According to the channel, heavy fighting was taking place in the north of the enclave. An Israeli airstrike on a school in Fallujah caused casualties and fatalities among the refugees there, the channel said. It also reported "intense fighting between the Palestinian resistance" and Israeli forces in several directions in the northern sector and Gaza City.
The channel also said that a powerful explosion rocked a hospital in the central part of the Gaza Strip. According to it, the explosion occurred near the Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital in the city of Deir al-Balah. There is no information yet about the casualties.
In addition, the Al Mayadeen TV channel pointed out that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has deteriorated significantly due to the complete lack of electricity and water, as well as the cessation of humanitarian aid and food deliveries.
Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 when Hamas militants staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and taking hostages, including women, children and the elderly. Hamas described its attack as a response to the aggressive actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. Israel has announced a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and has been delivering air strikes on Gaza as well as some parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also underway in the West Bank.
