Moldovan authorities deny Russian observers accreditation to monitor local elections

"As the local elections in Moldova on November 5 draw near, the leadership of this OSCE member country is stepping up the number of politicized schemes with an openly anti-Russian background," the mission said

VIENNA, October 31. /TASS/. The Central Election Commission of Moldova has denied accreditation to some of the Russian observers from the mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to monitor local elections in the republic without any explanation, the Russian permanent mission to the European security agency said.

"As the local elections in Moldova on November 5 draw near, the leadership of this OSCE member country is stepping up the number of politicized schemes with an openly anti-Russian background," the mission said.

"This time we are talking about the refusal of the country's Central Election Commission to accredit a number of short-term observers from Russia as part of the monitoring mission without giving any explanation as to why," the Russian mission to the OSCE said.
