TEL-AVIV, October 8. /TASS/. Early on Sunday, Israeli warplanes conducted an air strike on two mosques in the Gaza Strip, which Israel believes were used by members of the HAMAS radical movement for military purposes.
"Earlier today, fighter jets of the Israeli Defense Forces struck two military infrastructure facilities, located in mosques used by the HAMAS terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip for launching attacks on Israel," the statement says.
According to the Israeli armed forces, HAMAS continues "to engage in terrorist activities inside the Gaza strip, using religious facilities and deliberately placing its military objects in the midst of civilian residential zones."
According to IDF, the Israeli military also struck a rocked launcher, a HAMAS command center that controlled rocket launches towards Israel, and a tactical command center of the Islamic Jihad radical organization. Apart from that, the military prevented a group of Palestinian terrorists from reaching the Israeli territory by the sea, the press service added.
