US Secretary of State to discuss Ukraine, nuclear disarmament with G7 colleagues

WASHINGTON, April 11. /TASS/. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken intends to discuss topics related to Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, nuclear disarmament, and food and energy security at a meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Japan, Principal Deputy Spokesperson for the US Department of State Vedant Patel said at a special briefing for journalists dedicated to Blinken’s trip to Vietnam and Japan on April 14-18.

The Secretary of State is expected to discuss a number of issues, including the situation in Ukraine, as well as nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, food and energy security, and the promotion of the concept of a free and open Indo-Pacific region, Patel said.

On April 16-18, the heads of diplomatic departments from the G7 countries will gather in the Japanese city of Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture.
