Hungary not to follow US’ example, not to ban Russian energy — Prime Minister

Viktor Orban noted that he had informed the European colleagues about this position of the Hungarian government

VIENNA, March 9. /TASS/. Hungary will not follow the US’ example and ban imports of Russian oil and gas, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in a video statement, published on his Facebook page.

He noted that he informed the European colleagues about this position of the Hungarian government.

"I made it clear that we cannot follow the US’ example. Yesterday, they imposed sanctions on these products, but it will be an intolerable burden for Hungary, so us joining these sanctions is out of the question. We still need oil and gas coming from Russia," Orban underscored.
