"We held informative talks on several issues, including IDA20, comprehensive approaches to debt and debt transparency, energy sector reforms and climate change," he wrote on Twitter.

"President Malpass affirmed the WBG’s willingness to support Russian efforts on greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction and carbon neutrality through its work on a Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR) and other knowledge products," the report went on to say.

Besides, the World Bank president and the Russian deputy prime minister discussed assistance to low-income countries in dealing with the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic. "President Malpass underscored the need for mobilizing financing for low-income countries and welcomed Russia’s active participation in the IDA20 replenishment process," the document said.

"President Malpass and Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk discussed critical global issues including the implementation of the G20 Common Framework. President Malpass underscored the importance of a comprehensive approach to the debt problem, including swifter restructuring and improved debt transparency," the readout said.
