Palestine appreciates Biden’s position in support of two-state solution, says ambassador

The ambassador pointed out that Palestine had gone through difficult times when former US President Donald Trump was in office

MOSCOW, January 27. /TASS/. Palestine praises US President Joe Biden’s position in favor of the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal told TASS on Wednesday.

"We highly appreciate this new American position," he said when asked by TASS.

The ambassador pointed out that Palestine had gone through difficult times when former US President Donald Trump was in office.

The diplomat added that Acting US Representative to the United Nations Richard Mills announced that the US diplomatic mission in East Jerusalem and the Palestinian diplomatic mission in Washington, which "were closed by the last US administration," would re-open.

"We highly appreciate this position," Nofal added.

On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that Biden’s view was "that a two-state solution is the only path forward" in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
