Putin, IAEA delegation to discuss making Zaporozhye nuclear plant safe and operating

SOCHI, March 6. /TASS/. The delegation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will discuss how to make Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) safe and running with Russian President Vladimir Putin, CEO of the Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom Alexey Likhachev told reporters after talks with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

"I believe that the talk with president today will also be not merely about preserving security at the Zaporozhye [nuclear] plant, how to make it secure but also operating, and also about the contribution Russia will make in general to development of the nuclear power industry on the planet," Likhachev said.

The Zaporozhye NPP is located in the city of Energodar and comprises six power generating units with the total capacity of 6 GW. This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.
