MOSCOW, February 19. /TASS/. Moscow and Yerevan's positions on Ukraine are worlds apart, but that won't stop Russia from believing it is correct, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

Peskov’s comment comes in the wake of a statement made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who said that Armenia was not Russia’s ally regarding the Ukrainian conflict issue.

"In fact, we have diametrically opposed views on what is going on in Ukraine and regarding the Ukrainian conflict on the whole. This is no secret," Peskov said.

"So we know where our Armenian friends stand. We disagree with them regarding this issue and will continue to insist that our position is the correct one," Peskov added.

At a meeting with representatives of the Armenian diaspora in Germany, Pashinyan reiterated that Yerevan does not support Moscow on the Ukrainian issue.

The Armenian prime minister stressed that the Almaty declaration (of 1991) applies to everyone, not only Armenia, as it was signed by all ormer Soviet republics, including Russia and Ukraine, which had recognized each other’s state borders.
