MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. Extending the truce in the Gaza Strip would be appropriate given the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the enclave, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"Certainly, we would prefer to see news about another extension of this humanitarian pause. It seems this would make the most sense considering the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe that Gaza is currently experiencing and the unfinished business of releasing hostages," the Kremlin official said.
He stressed that despite resumed combat in the Gaza Strip, Russia will continue to apply efforts and maintain communication with all relevant parties in order to release Russian nationals remaining there.
