MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Russia expects the evacuation of the country's citizens through the Rafah border crossing to resume soon, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.
"We count on the prompt resumption of this process. The evacuation will continue," she said.
"Our diplomatic missions are still working with Egyptian, Israeli, and Palestinian authorities for the people remaining in the Gaza Strip, as well as their families," the diplomat noted.
According to Zakharova, 762 out of the 1000 who asked for help have been moved out of the Gaza Strip.
"They arrived from Cairo to Moscow by Russian Emergencies Ministry special flights," she pointed out.
Aliya Zaripova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Mission to the Palestinian National Authority, told TASS earlier that the Rafah checkpoint was still not available for the evacuation of foreign citizens from the Gaza Strip due to the humanitarian pause. She added that about 200 Russian citizens and their family members are currently on the waiting list to be evacuated.
