Russia fighting Nazis in Kiev’s government, not ordinary Ukrainians — Duma speaker

According to Vyacheslav Volodin, political efforts need to be consolidated to bring victory closer

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Russia is fighting against Nazis in the Ukrainian government, not against ordinary citizens, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin told a plenary meeting.

"Ukraine has been through tragedy, a bloody coup. Nazis came to power, [the country] lost its sovereignty, falling under the complete control of Washington and Brussels. The country is gone. Therefore, when it comes to Ukraine, we must distinguish between the people of Ukraine and the criminal government," Volodin said.

"Ordinary citizens who live in Ukraine should understand that our soldiers bring liberation, peace, harmony and freedom to the territory of our brotherly country," the speaker said, noting that no effort should be spared in making sure soldiers’ families are properly taken care of.

According to Volodin, political efforts need to be consolidated to bring victory closer. "The leaders of political factions understand this, and are doing everything in their power to unite and consolidate society."

The Duma speaker also emphasized the role of President Vladimir Putin, "who is doing everything for the prosperity of the country, for its unification." "Irrespective of party affiliation, we should also, on our part, lend a hand, team up to achieve the goals and tasks that the president has set as part of the country's development goal-setting," Volodin said.
