Gazprom Neft slashes well site construction costs using AI — Putin

Russia has expanded AI implementation in economic and social spheres by 1.5 times over the past years, the head of state noted

MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. Russian oil and gas major Gazprom Neft has significantly reduced well site construction costs owing to the use of artificial intelligence (AI), President Vladimir Putin said at the artificial intelligence conference.

Russia has expanded AI implementation in economic and social spheres by 1.5 times over the past years, the head of state noted.

"Let me cite a specific example, so to say, from real life, from real sector - the fuel and energy sector sphere. Gazprom Neft company, using artificial intelligence technologies, made it possible to significantly reduce well site construction costs and is solving complicated tasks of logistics safety on the Northern Sea Route, and certain other tasks," the Russian leader said.

Putin also noted growth of investments in the artificial intelligence sphere on the whole.
