Russian lawmaker calls PACE resolution on flight МН17 triumph of double standards

Russia was ruled guilty without a trial, investigation and real evidence, Leonid Slutsky said

MOSCOW, June 23. /TASS/. State Duma Committee on International Affairs Chairman Leonid Slutsky on Thursday said the recent PACE resolution that accused Russia that a Buk shot down the Malaysian Boeing on flight МН17 in 2014 was a triumph of double standards.

"The PACE resolution on МН17 is a triumph of double standards," he told reporters. "Russia was ruled guilty without a trial, investigation and real evidence. That’s all you need to know about the new European standards of impartiality."

Slutsky, who is also the leader of the LDPR, said Russia is no longer a member of the Council of Europe and its Parliamentary Assembly.

"Its Russophobic decisions and resolutions have no significance for us. There’s nothing that’s constructive on that forum," he said.

PACE on Thursday passed a resolution blaming Russia for the flight MH17 disaster.
