Yandex Taxi pays windfall tax of $18.4 mln

The actual volume of tax revenue exceeded the expected level of $3.2 bln

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Yandex Taxi paid windfall tax in the amount of 1.7 bln rubles ($18.4 mln), according to the company’s report under the Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) for 2023.

According to the report, Yandex Taxi's revenue increased over the past year compared to 2022 by 30.34% and amounted to 149.6 bln rubles ($1.62 bln). Net profit increased by 21.6% to 31.9 bln rubles ($344.8 mln).

Previously, the Russian Ministry of Finance reported that the federal budget received a total of 318.8 bln rubles ($3.4 bln) from windfall tax. The actual volume of tax revenue exceeded the expected level of 300 bln rubles ($3.2 bln). The ministry also emphasized that the tax on excess profits of companies is a one-time measure, and there are no plans to levy it again.
