MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. The net profit of the Moscow Exchange according under IFRS for 2023 increased by 67.5% to 60.8 bln rubles ($659.23 mln) against 36.3 bln rubles ($393.6 mln) a year earlier, the exchange said in a report published on Monday.
Commission income increased by 39.4% to 52.2 bln rubles ($566.05 mln) due to high client activity, as well as launches of new products and services, the exchange reported. At the same time, operating expenses increased by 20.2% to 28.7 bln rubles ($311.22 mln).
The size of the exchange’s own funds at the end of 2023 amounted to 139.07 bln rubles ($1.5 bln). As of the end of the reporting period, Moscow Exchange had no debt obligations.
Commission income on the foreign exchange market increased by 30.4% to 7.38 bln rubles ($80.03 mln), while the trading volume increased by 22.5%.
The stock market capitalization as of December 31, 2023, reached 58.1 trillion rubles (or $647.3 bln). Commission income on the stock market increased by 113.2%, to 6.96 bln rubles ($75.47 mln) with a 30% increase in trading volumes.
