The prices of futures contracts of Brent crude oil for March delivery and WTI for February delivery on London's ICE grew following reports of air strikes against the airport of Yemen and positions held by the Ansar Allah (Houthi) rebel movement in the country by the US and British military, according to trading data.
As of 04:48 a.m. Moscow time (01:48 a.m. GMT) the price of Brent oil was up by 1.13% at $79.37 per barrel, while the WTI price was up by 0.82% at $73.97.
By 06:30 a.m. (03:30 a.m. GMT) the Brent price had narrowed gains to 0.68% reaching $79.01 per barrel, while the WTI price was also moderately up at $73.63 (+0.35%).
As of 10:00 a.m. Moscow time (07:00 a.m. GMT) the price of Brent oil was up by 0.88% at $79.18 per barrel, while the price of WTI was up by 0.44% at $73.69.
