Ukraine importing electricity virtually 24 hours a day — energy company

The power consumption level dropped by 4.4% weekly on December 16 because of warming temperatures, but still remains high, Ukrenergo noted

MOSCOW, December 18. /TASS/. Ukraine has ramped up its imports of electrical power under seasonal winter weather conditions to nearly 24 hours a day, the Ukrenergo utility company said.

"Electric power is being imported across nearly the entire 24-hour period from Slovakia, Romania and Moldova. The total volume is 6,371 MWh, with the maximal power up to 694 MW in certain hours," the utility company said on its Telegram channel.

The power consumption level dropped by 4.4% weekly on December 16 because of warming temperatures, but still remains high, Ukrenergo added.
