BEIJING, December 18. /TASS/. Tourist trips between China and Russia will be above one million people by the end of this year and will grow by a factor of five by 2030, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko said at the bilateral intergovernmental commission’s meeting.
"I would like to draw attention to positive dynamics in the tourism sphere. We expect that the mutual tourist traffic will be more than one million trips by the year-end. Let me note that China currently ranks first among foreign countries by the number of inbound tourist trips to Russia in 2023, the official said.
"The e-visa mechanism enjoys strong demand among Chinese tourists and more than 50% of total inbound tourist traffic in Russia takes place under e-visas. We expect the mutual tourist traffic, according to forecasts of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development will grow by 5 times as a minimum by 2030," he added.
