Russia needs to produce about 11,000 UAVs for civilian use in 2024 — First Deputy PM

Andrey Belousov noted that this does not include educational drones that will be produced for schools

MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Russia needs to produce about 11,000 heavy, medium and light UAVs for civilian use in 2024, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov told reporters on Friday.

"Next year we need to produce about 11,000 heavy, medium and light civilian drones for civilian use," he said after visiting the Rudnevo industrial park.

He noted that this does not include educational drones that will be produced for schools.

Earlier in August, the First Deputy Prime Minister said that in 2024 Russia should begin producing 18,000 large and medium-sized civilian drones.

As Belousov’s secretariat previously reported, implementation of the national project for the development of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) will start at the beginning of 2024.
