Russia’s MC-21 project to get around $3.04 bln from National Wealth Fund

41.8 bln rubles will be also allocated for the Tu-214

MOSCOW, July 31. /TASS/. The project of the domestic liner MC-21 will be given 280 bln rubles ($3.04 bln) would be given from the National Wealth Fund, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said in an interview with TASS.

"About 280 bln rubles will be allocated for the MC-21, and 41.8 bln [rubles] for the Tu-214," Siluanov said.

The MC-21 passenger jet is on par with the best western counterparts, Siluanov told TASS earlier. "An excellent one. It is on par with the best Western counterparts. Good sound insulation, a comfortable cabin, and ergonomic domestically made seats are there. The cockpit is a modern one," the minister said, sharing his impressions of flying on board of the MC-21. Anton Siluanov and Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov made a flight on board of the MC-21 on June 22 to attend the meeting on civil aviation projects at the Kazan aviation plant.
