BEIJING, April 13. /TASS/. China’s foreign trade volume decreased by 2.9% in January-March 2023 year-on-year to $1.43 trillion, the General Administration of Customs of China reported on Thursday.
The country’s exports edged up by half a percent in the reporting period to around $821.83 bln, while imports fell by 7.1% to $617.12 bln, according to released figures. China’s surplus reached $204.71 bln in the first three months of 2023, up by 25.6% year-on-year.
In March, China’s foreign trade volume amounted to $542.98 bln, up by 32% compared with February, while exports rose by 47.4% to $315.58 bln.
