China’s BAIC opens first dealership in Moscow

A total of seven BAIC models will be available on the Russian market this year

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. BAIC Major, the first official dealership of Chinese car brand BAIC was opened in Moscow on Thursday, TASS reports from the official opening ceremony.

Three new models are in the showroom: the U5 Plus sedan and the X35 crossover with a price tag starting at 1.7 mln rubles ($20,800) and the BJ 40 Plus SUV with a price of 3.7 mln rubles ($45,300).

Sedan and crossover sales will kick off in the next 2-3 weeks, CEO of Baic Rus Vitaly Ryabkin said. "I think we will need two-three weeks to start selling cars, as regards the sedan and the X35. Concerning the BJ40 SUV, let’s expect 4-5 weeks, probably 6 [to start sales]," he added.
