Moscow, Beijing to extend trade turnover structure, says Russian envoy

The authorities of Russia and China have set a task of bringing bilateral trade volumes to $200 bln per year

BEIJING, November 17. /TASS/. Russia and China place special emphasis on the structure of bilateral trade turnover, seeking to extend the assortment of supplies, Russian Ambassador to Beijing Igor Morgulov told Russian journalists on Thursday.

"In our economic cooperation, apart from the focus on growth of value indicators, we place special emphasis on the structure of trade turnover, seeking to extend the assortment of supplies," he said, adding that for solving the issue relevant agencies of the two countries approved a roadmap on high-quality development of trade in goods and services between Moscow and Beijing this February.

The authorities of Russia and China have set a task of bringing bilateral trade volumes to $200 bln per year. In 2020, trade turnover between the two countries lost 2.9% due to the pandemic (to $107.76 bln), whereas last year it rose by 35.8% to record $146.88 bln.
