Seven LPR soldiers return home after being freed from Ukrainian captivity — local official

The Russian defense ministry reported on Monday that as a result of negotiations, as many as 106 Russian soldiers had been returned from Kiev-controlled territory

LUGANSK, April 11. /TASS/. Seven soldiers from the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) returned to their homes after being released from Ukrainian captivity, the region’s human rights commissioner Viktoria Serdyukova reported.

The Russian defense ministry reported on Monday that as a result of negotiations, as many as 106 Russian soldiers had been returned from Kiev-controlled territory.

"This exchange… also brought long-awaited good news for the Lugansk region’s women, whose sons and husbands were drafted under the mobilization into the 2nd and 1st Army Corps in February of 2022 and were held captive in Ukraine for many months," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

"Among the freed soldiers are seven [LPR] servicemen, who were held captive in Ukrainian prisons for exactly one year," Serdyukova added.
