15 Ukrainian drones, 6 HIMARS rockets, one HARM missile downed during day

All Ukraine’s attacks in Kherson region repelled by Russian forces

MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. Fifteen Ukrainian drones, six HIMARS rockets and one HARM anti-radar missile were downed by Russian air defense systems during the past day, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday.

"During the day, air defense systems downed 15 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles near the settlements of Staritsa, Ishchenka, Borozenskoye, and Tokarevka in the Kherson region, Lyubimovka in the Zaporozhye region, Yegorovka, Staromayorskoye, and Blagoveshchenka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Verkhnyaya Duvanka, Kuzemovka, and Oborotnovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. Apart from that, six HIMARS rockets and one HARM anti-radar missile were intercepted near the settlements of Kakhovka in the Kherson region, and Svatovo in the Lugansk People’s Republic," he said.

Kherson region

Russian troops have repelled all Ukraine’s attempted attacks in the Kherson region.

"An enemy reinforced motorized infantry battalion made an abortive attempt to attack our positions near the settlements of Bruskinskoye, Pyatikhatka, Koshara, Sukhanovo, Ishchenka in the Kherson Region. Russian troops repelled all the attacks. The enemy was pushed back to their initial positions," he said, adding that more than 90 Ukrainian troops, three tanks, eight armored combat vehicles were destroyed.


More than 30 shells were fired by Ukrainian troops at Energodar’s eastern suburb and territories around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plants during the past day, the enemy fire was hushed, Igor Konashenkov said.

"The Kiev regime continues provocations to create the threat of a man-induced disaster at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. During the day, Ukrainian artillery fired more than 30 artillery shells at Energodar’s eastern suburb and territories around the nuclear plant," he said.

According to Konashenkov, fire was conducted from Ukraine-controlled settlements of Nikopol and Chervonogrigorovka in the Dnepropetrovsk region. "Russian artillery units opened retaliation fire to hush enemy systems. No casualties or damaged were reported from the station. The radiation background is within the norm," he added.

"Russian tactical and army aviation, missile and artillery units hit a Ukrainian army control center near the settlement of Novotavricheskoye in the Zaporozhye Region, Ukrainian army units near the settlements of Novaya Kamenka, Pyatikhatka, and Novaya Kaluga in the Kherson region, Yampol, Novoukrainka, and Kirovsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and Izyum in the Kharkov region, as well as 67 artillery units at their combat positions, manpower and military hardware in 167 locations," he said.

According to the Russian defense ministry, as many as 325 Ukrainian warplanes, 162 helicopters, 2,323 drones, 383 air defense systems, 5,997 tanks and other armored vehicles, 874 multiple rocket launch systems, 3,517 artillery systems and mortars, as well as 6,720 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
