MOSCOW, May 11. /TASS/. Ukraine’s armed forces have created a unified fortified zone with the total area surpassing 170 square kilometers in the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk agglomeration where they stocked up on the necessary supplies, head of Russia’s National Defense Control Center Mikhail Mizintsev reported on Wednesday.
"In the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk agglomeration, just as earlier in Mariupol, the units of Ukraine’s army equipped a unified fortified zone with the total area over 170 square kilometers and created the necessary supplies of weapons, munitions, fuel and lubricants, food and pharmaceuticals," the military official who also heads Russia’s Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine said.
According to him, in densely populated areas, militants deployed heavy weapons and equipment and set up firing posts in residential buildings. Local residents are being held in cellars under the guise of ensuring their safety while the walls are painted with "Attention! Children!" and "Children are here! Don’t shoot!" signs.
