Anyone attacking Russian military in Ukraine becomes target, warns Kremlin

The targets for the Russian military are all those who offer armed resistance, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. All attempts by Ukrainians to attack the Russian military with weapons will trigger a response, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned.

"If someone with weapons in their hands attacks our military, they will also become targets, of course," the press secretary said on Thursday commenting on the decision of the Ukrainian authorities to permit Ukrainian residents to legally use weapons.

Peskov recalled that "from the very beginning [Russian President Vladimir] Putin called on everyone to lay down their weapons." "It will just guarantee that no one will shoot at anyone, and this fierce armed resistance by nationalist battalions - Bandera battalions, all this forces us to return fire," the Kremlin spokesman added. He specified that the targets for the Russian military are "all those who offer armed resistance".
