Twenty-four Ukrainian servicemen surrendered as prisoners of war over the past day

MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. Ukraine has lost up to 420 troops in the Kursk area over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported. According to it, 24 enemy servicemen surrendered voluntarily.

In total, the enemy lost more than 33,670 troops during the hostilities.

Military investigators have opened a criminal case against Mikhail Baturin, a mercenary from Georgia who participates in operations against Russia as part of a Ukrainian unit.

Ukrainian losses

- Over the day, the Ukrainian losses amounted to 420 servicemen, two US-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, one German-made Marder infantry fighting vehicle, four armored fighting vehicles, four vehicles, a German-made 155 mm PzH 2000 howitzer, a 152 mm Akatsiya howitzer, a 152 mm D-20 gun and three 122 mm D-30 howitzers. Twenty-four Ukrainian servicemen surrendered as prisoners of war.

- In total, during the hostilities in the Kursk area, Kiev lost more than 33,670 troops, 213 tanks, 140 infantry fighting vehicles, 115 armored personnel carriers, 1,175 armored combat vehicles, 958 vehicles, 291 artillery systems, 40 multiple rocket launchers, including 11 HIMARS and six US-made MLRS, 13 anti-aircraft missile systems, seven transport and load vehicles, 66 electronic warfare stations, 13 counter-battery radars, four air defense radars, 27 units of engineering and other equipment, including 13 demolition vehicles, one UR-77 mine-clearing unit, as well as six armored maintenance and recovery vehicles, and a command vehicle.

Case against Georgian mercenary

- Military investigators have opened a criminal case against Mikhail Baturin, a mercenary from Georgia, who is taking part in military operations against Russia as part of one of the Ukrainian units.

- The investigation has established that Baturin has been training mercenaries for a long time and is personally taking direct part in the armed conflict as a mercenary.

- According to the Russian Investigative Committee, in September 2024, Baturin and other representatives of mercenary formations, acting with Ukrainian forces, armed with automatic small arms and large-caliber firearms, explosive devices, using military equipment, illegally crossed the Russian border and entered the territory of the Kursk Region. There, they committed criminal acts against the civilian population.

Housing certificates

- Residents of the border districts of the Kursk Region have filed over 5,000 applications for housing certificates as a result of the loss of property due to Ukrainian attacks, Governor Alexey Smirnov said on his Telegram channel.
