ATHENS, May 28. /TASS/. Europe’s future is inconceivable without Russia, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Friday after talks with visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"All admit, and I want to reassure you of that, that the future of the European continent is inconceivable is the European Union opposes itself to Russia," he said. "Greece is a country whose usefulness is in being a bridge of cooperation and friendship."
Greece’s role within all international organizations, according to Tsipras, is to make a contribution to ironing out difficulties and finding grounds for rapprochement between the European Union and Russia.
"The only solution is dialogue," the Greek prime minister stressed adding that a new Cold War and the policy of sanctions is a road to nowhere. "It is impossible to have an architecture of security in Europe without Russia’s taking part in it, without Russia’s being part and parcel of this architecture," he stressed.
