BRUSSELS, October 21. /TASS/. The EU plans to use the upcoming bilateral summits with the UK and Canada, as well as contacts with Norway and Japan, to secure additional funding for Ukraine, Politico reported, citing sources.
According to the newspaper, on Wednesday, European diplomats will discuss preparations for the summits with Canada, which will take place from October 29 to 30, and with the UK, which will take place on November 20. Politico emphasized that amid a growing funding shortfall for Ukraine and uncertainty over support from the US, Brussels is increasingly turning to non-EU allies for greater contributions.
The EU has approved a 90-billion-euro loan for Ukraine for 2026-2027, but by late August, the Kiev authorities had already stated that this money would not be enough.
Moscow has repeatedly stated that arming the Kiev regime only prolongs the conflict in Ukraine.
